Owning a small business when you are over 50
Deciding to open a small business of any kind is a big decision with lots of work involved at any adult age. But making this decision at an 'older' age brings lots of things to think about.
Will I have enough energy? Can I do this? I know about web design and content but what do I know about business? Basically every version of 'Can you teach an old dog new tricks?'
Well I know the answer for me is definitely yes. It starts with a passion for the thing I am creating. I have been drawing and creating for most of my life from before school with crayons and construction paper to crafting for many many years while my daughter was young to now, (she's getting married next month) and I am having a ball creating the art and transforming it into a multitude of different products.
Stickers, art prints, mini notebooks is the start, but every day I see more items that I would love to create and add my art to.
Stick around, and you can watch my attempts and likely failures and new attempts after that. Get up each time. It's not failure unless you didn't learn.... and you can always learn something.
